May is National Military Appreciation Month, a time for Americans to band together in recognition of our nation’s veterans and service members. In honor of our heroes, we’ve compiled a few of the May events in Texas aimed at veterans, military members and their families.
Dallas Veterans Job Fair 2018 May 10 (Arlington)
Recruit Military LLC has organized a veterans job fair on May 10, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the AT&T Stadium, located at one AT&T Way in Arlington. Click here for more information.
Veteran Town Hall May 10 (Texas City)
The Houston VA Medical Center and the Houston regional benefits Office are hosting a town hall meeting on Thursday, May 10, at the VA Texas City Community Based Outpatient Clinic, located in Texas City at 9300 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Suite 206. The meeting, which begins at 3 p.m., is an opportunity for Texas veterans and their family members to weigh in on their VA experiences. Click here for more information.
Welcome Home Veterans Event May 19 (San Antonio)
In Celebration of Armed Forces Day, the South Texas Health Care System, Morgan’s Wonderland and Mobility Work will host the 7th Annual Welcome Home Veterans Event on Saturday, May 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free event, aimed at exposing veterans and their families to the various resources available to them, will be held at Morgan’s Wonderland Event Center and Gymnasium, located in San Antonio at 5223 David Edwards Drive. Woodway Veterans Free Breakfast May 19 (Woodway)
For the fourth year in a row, the City of Woodway will host a free breakfast for all veterans and their guests on Saturday, May 19, from 8 to 9 a.m. in the pavilion at the Carleen Bright Arboretum, located at 9001 Bisque Blvd B. For more information, call Tracy at 254-772-4480.
Veterans Information Fair May 19 (Texarcana)
The Texarcana Area Chapter #278 of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Elks Lodge #271 will host their 22nd Annual Veterans Information Fair on Saturday, May 19. The event is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Elks Lodge located at 3702 New Boston Road, Texarcana, and will highlight various resources open to veterans and their family members. Veterans and Individuals With Disabilities Hiring Event May 29 (Houston)
The Greater Houston Business Leadership Network has organized a veteran and individuals with disabilities hiring event on Tuesday, May 29, at the United Way Community Resource Center from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center is located in Houston at 50 Waugh Drive, and the event is free.
