Veterans Day 2018 marks 99 years of official celebration of our country’s heroes. The day was first celebrated as Armistice Day in 1919—commemorating the end of World War I a year earlier. Today, it celebrates all of our brave veterans—no matter when or where they served—for their hard work and sacrifice.

HOUSTON
Houston Salutes American Heroes Veterans Day Celebration: Sunday, November 11, beginning at 10 a.m. near the reflection pool in Hermann Square at City Hall.
The Woodlands Township Veterans Day Tribute: Sunday, November 11, beginning at 4:30 p.m. at Town Green Park.
FORT WORTH
Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade: Saturday, November 10, beginning at 10:45 at the Tarrant County Courthouse.
DALLAS
Greater Dallas Veterans Day Parade 2018: Monday, November 12, beginning at 11 a.m. in downtown Dallas (Houston and Young streets).
AUSTIN
Austin Veterans Day Parade: Sunday, November 11, beginning at 9 a.m. The parade will proceed up Congress Ave. toward the Capitol building.
SAN ANTONIO
Veterans Day at the Alamo: Sunday, November 11, beginning at 9 a.m. at The Alamo. The event will feature a special military program, tours, a living history and weapons demonstrations. Admission is free for all veterans and military members.
EL PASO
The 22nd Annual Veterans Day Parade & Celebration: Saturday, November 10, beginning at 9 a.m. at Thompson Road and ending at Veterans Memorial Plaza in front of the San Elizario Church. The event will conclude with a ceremony recognizing five special veterans.
