June 14th marks 242 years of service from Americans in the U.S. Army. It was called the Continental Army when it began, and it was made up of expert riflemen from the 13 colonies. The Second Continental Congress put it in place as a unified effort against Great Britain. And as we all know, that effort was a success (June 14 also marks Flag Day!).
In honor of those first American soldiers and all who have come afterward, we thought we’d highlight some fun Texas activities and establishments that cater to America’s bravest. Let’s have a look at just a few that offer discounts:

Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. Looking for fun for the whole family? These Arlington parks are sure to deliver. Both offer discounts to anyone with a valid military or Department of Defense ID. But you’ll have to get the tickets through your local base MWR/ITR office first.
The Houston Museum of Natural Science. Ready to expand your mind? Then you’re ready to visit some of the great things on exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Sea World San Antonio. Enjoy dolphins, whales, sea lions and so much more at one of Texas’ premiere theme parks. Under Sea World’s Waves of Honor program, military members and veterans both get discounts, though the offers are different for each. And the offers change each year. Space Center Houston. Prepare for an amazing adventure at Space Center Houston, the gateway to tour NASA Johnson Space Center. The Space Center offers discounts on tickets to military members with ID. Click here for visitor information and ticket prices.
San Antonio Botanical Gardens. Experience 33 acres of beauty in bloom at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens. Veterans and military members get discounts on tickets with a valid military ID.
