2016 was big for Veteran Energy. Our growth over the last year has brought the total raised for our Affinity Partners to more than $244,000.
If you’re already a customer, you know we give back a portion of your electric bill to support Texas veterans, current military and their families. We call that The Power to Give Back™.
In keeping with our efforts, Veteran Energy also sponsored and took part in lots of Texas events this last year. You might have seen us at the Salute to Business Veterans Workshop. Or perhaps you recognized our logo from the list of sponsors for the Women Veterans Empowerment Expo or other events organized by one of our fine Affinity Partners.
And The Power to Give Back™ doesn’t stop there. In September, we teamed up with groups and collected school supplies that filled 75 backpacks for school children of veterans and current military. And in April, when torrential floods forced several veterans and their families out of their homes, we helped with fundraising and supplies to make sure these heroes didn’t go without.
